Vintage Lyon & Healy Alto Sax in Gold Lacquer # 200873

This is a vintage Lyon and Healy alto saxophone in gold lacquer, serial number 200873. Lyon and Healy saxophones were most typically made as a stencil by Martin, Buescher and Conn. This one showcases Martin styled beveled tone hole construction and has key work to high palm F as well as a chromatic F# key and a trill G#. The original neck and all of the key work is intact. The neck does have a unique double octave mechanism  on the neck.  

 

The pictures of this saxophone tell its story the best. It is physically in solid condition but does not look like it has seen any sort of maintenance or playing in a very long time. The alto is not currently playing. This saxophone would need to be completely restored before it is going to be ready for any type of playing. Because the saxophone is rather unique it is more ideal as a collectors item or conversation piece. It would also be a good horn if you are working on repair in an at home shop.
