Vintage Original Lacquer Conn 6M ‘Naked Lady’ Alto Saxophone, Serial #316792
Conn Naked Lady Alto
This is a great post war Conn 6M “Naked Lady” alto saxophone in original lacquer, serial number 316792. The alto showcases the classic Conn features of rolled tone holes, front F, trill G#, improved bell key cluster for the bell keys, double socket neck with micro tuner and “Naked Lady” engraving. This alto is currently in our shop awaiting a professional set up and ships out in perfect playing condition.
These Conn altos are very idiomatic of the swing era, both in look and sound. They feature a powerful free blowing response which can be played with an ample amount of power and brilliance. A fantastic item if you are looking for an alto with a lot of character that can be pushed hard.
The physical body of the sax is in great shape showing some normal signs of past play time and some repair. Its original lacquer looks quite nice and is well complemented by the crisp engraving around the bell. There has been some smaller dents taken out of the horn over the years and a few are present at the time of these photos being taken. ( all dents will be removed while horn is in shop) There is no history of major solder repair on this alto. The original double socket neck is with the sax and is in good condition. Its micro tuner is present and is in perfect working order. (free moving)
The alto is currently waiting its turn in our shop for some needed TLC. Our professional setup will include a dissemble, cleaning and precise key fitting of the key work before it is set up with all new key materials. It came in with a good set of leather pads and metal dome resonators. We will change out just a few of these pads in the upper stack to ensure the entire horn is up to our standards. While the horn is apart we will also clean up the small dings on the body as well.
This alto ships out in perfect playing condition with a fresh set up from our shop and a protec gig bag.
