Players Horn – As Is Condition
This is a stellar player! Vintage Selmer Paris Mark VI tenor saxophone in original lacquer finish, serial number 136531. The tenor came into our shop playing up a storm on slightly older pads from another shop. It has a gorgeous with lots of brilliance while showcasing exceptional projection. A great horn if you are looking for powerful VI with a crisp and clear sonic character.

Like a lot of the great professional saxophones out there this one has seen plenty of play time in the past. It does show the history of past body and solder repair. Originally the sax was manufactured with a Varitone pick up system. If you look closely at the horn you can see where it used to have the sound box on top of the bell keys as well as the wire holding mount along the side of the body tube. A previous owner of the sax had this removed. The lacquer on the sax is original with a proper dark honey tint. It also shows clear American floral engraving along the bell. All of the original key work and guards are with this saxophone. There has been a modification to the key arms for side Bb and C. ( see pictures) The neck with the saxophone is mostly in raw brass at this point showing just a little bit of the original finish. It also shows where the neck mount for the Varitone was previously removed and correctly repaired with a flush plug. The neck is currently slightly pulled down.

As it is now the tenor is playing with a great free blowing response across its full range. It looks like the previous owner had it re-padded in the last few years with a standard grade leather pad and brown nylon resonators. Because our own shop is very backed up and this horn is currently playing up a storm as it sits, we are listing it in as is condition at a lower price.

Ships playing in as is condition with an older Selmer brown plastic flight case.
