Vintage Selmer Paris Mark VI Tenor Saxophone, Serial #124008 - Fully Overhauled by SQ

This is a very nice vintage Selmer Paris Mark VI tenor saxophone, serial number 124008. The horn shows off a clean gold lacquer look and was recently overhauled in our shop. It is in perfect playing condition and is now ready for a new home. As a player the Mark VI features a quick response to air and sounds with a rich free blowing sonic character. This particular Mark VI is noticeably more focused from top to bottom in comparison to the more spread VI tenors of the late 1950's. It is a very flexible tenor and can be played with plenty of brilliance and power when desired. 

 

At some point in the past the previous owner had the finish redone. Its current finish is very clean on across the body and original neck showing some normal play wear, but nothing too serious. The engraving is very clean well defined across the bell area. Its body tube, bow, bow cap and bell are all in very good condition. This saxophone is with the original neck with matching serial number stamp. Like the rest of the saxophone the neck is in superb condition. 

 

This tenor was very recently overhauled in our shop and is now playing up an absolute storm. The work included a complete dissemble, cleaning, key fitting and a thorough regulation and set up of all the key work. Its set up now shows off a brand new set of premium leather pads and metal domed resonators. All of the key materials (corks and felts) are also brand new. The key work feels smooth and fluid under the fingers allowing for a great playing experience.
