Vintage Wm Haynes Boston Mas Pro Commercial Model Flute, Serial # 17878-

This is a very nice Wm Haynes Boston Massachusetts flute, serial number 17878.  These Haynes flutes are a great way to go for wood wind doublers looking for a versatile and easy to play pro flute. These “Commercial” models feature a sterling silver head, body and C foot joint with closed key holes. The serial number on this flute indicates it was manufactured in 1943. Despite its age it is in stunning physical condition showing no history of major past repairs. It was looked after and maintained very well over the years. 

 

At this time the flute is playing with a smooth response and a beautiful clear sound in all registers. It came in playing on a a little bit of a mix match of pads. Most of them are still in good shape while some could stand to be replaced. If you are going to be putting a lot of really serious play time on this flute in the future it could stand some pad work in the near future. But because it is playing as is we are offering it at a lower “as is” condition price at this time. 

 

The plateau key work on these flutes make them easy to play and an ideal item for wood wind doublers. This flute ships out in as is condition with a older wood hard case.
